Freshly squeezed carrot juice is a vibrant and nutrient-rich beverage, packed with beta-carotene and natural sweetness. Proper storage is key to preserving its delightful flavor and health benefits, ensuring you can enjoy this wholesome drink for as long as possible.
Storage Time
Unopened: Up to 1 year in pantry. Opened: 3–5 days in refrigerator.
Temperature
Store unopened carrot juice in a cool, dry pantry. Once opened, refrigerate at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
Carrot juice can be frozen to extend its shelf life significantly. Pour the juice into freezer-safe containers or ice cube trays, leaving some headspace for expansion. Frozen carrot juice is best consumed within 6–12 months for optimal quality. Thaw slowly in the refrigerator overnight before consuming. Freezing may slightly alter the texture, but the flavor remains largely intact.
Signs of Spoilage
- Foul or sour odor, distinct from its natural sweet aroma.
- Visible mold growth on the surface or along the edges of the container.
- Cloudy or murky appearance, especially if it was clear when fresh, or significant separation of pulp.
