Storage Time
Cooked fava beans can be safely stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. For extended preservation, they can be frozen for up to 6 months while retaining good quality.
Temperature
Always store cooked fava beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator at a consistent temperature between 0–4°C (32–40°F) to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria.
Freezing
To freeze cooked fava beans, first ensure they are completely cooled to room temperature. Transfer them into freezer-safe airtight containers or heavy-duty freezer bags, removing as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn. Label with the date of freezing. When you're ready to enjoy them, thaw the frozen fava beans overnight in the refrigerator, or reheat them directly from frozen in a saucepan over low heat or in the microwave, adding a small amount of water or broth to prevent drying. While the texture may become slightly softer after freezing and thawing, their nutritional value and taste remain largely intact.
