Savor the rich flavors of your homemade lasagna, a comforting classic perfect for family dinners. Properly stored, this layered pasta dish can maintain its delicious taste and texture for days.
Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator, up to 3 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store refrigerated at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
Homemade lasagna freezes exceptionally well, making it ideal for meal prep. Allow the lasagna to cool completely before portioning it into airtight containers or wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap followed by aluminum foil. To thaw, transfer it to the refrigerator overnight or reheat directly from frozen in a covered oven at 175°C (350°F) until heated through, which may take longer than usual. Freezing may slightly alter the texture of the pasta, but the flavors will remain robust.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour or off odor emanating from the dish.
- Visible mold growth on the surface or edges.
- Slimy or mushy texture, especially in the pasta layers or sauce.
