Enjoy your delicious homemade wraps for longer by storing them correctly. Proper refrigeration and freezing techniques ensure your flavorful fillings and tender tortillas remain at their best for convenient meals.
Storage Time
2–3 days in fridge, up to 1 month frozen (depending on fillings)
Temperature
Keep refrigerated at 0–4°C (32–40°F)
Freezing
Homemade wraps can be frozen, but it's best to freeze them before adding very wet or delicate fillings like fresh lettuce or creamy sauces, as these can become soggy or separate upon thawing. Wrap individual wraps tightly in plastic wrap, then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container. To thaw, remove from the freezer and let them defrost in the refrigerator overnight. For a quicker thaw, you can microwave them on low power, but be mindful of potential texture changes. It's recommended to consume frozen wraps within 1 month for optimal quality.
Signs of Spoilage
- Slimy or sticky texture on the tortilla or fillings.
- Off-putting or sour smell emanating from the wrap.
- Visible mold growth on any part of the wrap or its contents.
