A pizzetta is a small pizza, typically single-serving size. These mini pizzas are often topped with cheese, tomato sauce, vegetables, and meats, making them a delicious and convenient snack or light meal.
Storage Time
1–2 days in the fridge, 2–3 months in the freezer, or at room temperature for a few hours.
Temperature
Keep refrigerated at 4°C (40°F) or below. For optimal freezing, maintain a freezer temperature of -18°C (0°F).
Freezing
Pizzettas can be frozen for longer storage. Wrap each pizzetta individually in plastic wrap, then place them in a freezer bag or airtight container to prevent freezer burn. To thaw, transfer the frozen pizzetta to the refrigerator overnight or bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time. Freezing may slightly alter the texture of the crust.
Signs of Spoilage
- Mold growth on the crust or toppings.
- Sour or off odor.
- Slimy or sticky texture on the surface.
- Discoloration of the toppings.
