Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator, up to 10–12 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store in the refrigerator at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
Roasted bell peppers freeze exceptionally well, preserving their flavor for future meals. For best results, cool them completely, then spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet to freeze individually before transferring to airtight freezer bags or containers. This prevents clumping. Thaw slowly in the refrigerator overnight or gently reheat in a skillet or oven. Note that texture may soften slightly after freezing and thawing, making them ideal for cooked dishes rather than raw applications.
Signs of Spoilage
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Foul or fermented odor
- Visible mold growth or dark, sunken spots
