Enjoy the delightful crunch of homemade or store-bought biscotti for weeks when stored correctly. These twice-baked Italian cookies are designed for longevity, making them a perfect pantry staple for your coffee or tea time.
Storage Time
Up to 3 weeks in the pantry, 1-2 months if frozen.
Temperature
Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature (18-22°C).
Freezing
Biscotti freezes exceptionally well, preserving its crisp texture. Wrap individual biscotti or small batches tightly in plastic wrap, then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. To thaw, simply remove from the freezer and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour. Avoid thawing in the refrigerator, as this can lead to condensation and a loss of crispness.
Signs of Spoilage
- Development of mold or fuzzy spots on the surface.
- A stale, soft, or chewy texture instead of crispness.
- An off, rancid, or musty odor.
