Safely store your delicious homemade burgers to maintain their peak freshness and flavor. Proper refrigeration and freezing techniques are key to enjoying these ground meat delights for longer periods.
Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator, up to 3–4 months in the freezer for best quality.
Temperature
Keep refrigerated at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
For optimal quality, wrap individual uncooked burger patties tightly in plastic wrap, then place them in a freezer-safe bag or airtight container. This prevents freezer burn. Thaw frozen burgers in the refrigerator overnight before cooking. Never refreeze raw burgers that have been thawed.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour or ammonia-like smell emanating from the meat.
- A slimy or sticky texture on the surface of the patty.
- A dull, grayish-brown color instead of the expected pinkish-red hue.
