Safely store your delicious homemade veggie burgers to maintain their fresh flavor and texture. Proper storage ensures these plant-based patties are ready to enjoy for your next meal, minimizing food waste.
Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator, up to 3 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store refrigerated at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
Homemade veggie burgers freeze exceptionally well. Allow the cooked or uncooked patties to cool completely. Wrap each patty individually in plastic wrap or parchment paper, then place them in an airtight freezer bag or container. This prevents freezer burn and maintains optimal quality. To thaw, transfer frozen patties to the refrigerator overnight. For a quicker thaw, you can gently reheat them from frozen in a skillet or oven.
Signs of Spoilage
- A sour or off odor that is distinctly unpleasant.
- Slimy or sticky texture on the surface of the patty.
- Visible mold growth, which can appear as fuzzy patches of various colors.
