Pizza rolls are a convenient and tasty snack, filled with pizza sauce, cheese, and various toppings. These bite-sized treats are typically sold frozen and require proper storage to maintain their quality and prevent spoilage. Whether you're storing cooked or uncooked pizza rolls, understanding the best practices will ensure they remain delicious and safe to eat.
Storage Time
3–4 days in the refrigerator after cooking, or up to 12 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Keep frozen pizza rolls at or below -18°C (0°F). Refrigerate cooked pizza rolls at 4°C (40°F) or below.
Freezing
Pizza rolls are best stored frozen. To freeze cooked pizza rolls, allow them to cool completely before placing them in an airtight container or freezer bag. For uncooked pizza rolls, simply keep them in their original packaging and place them directly into the freezer. When ready to eat, bake directly from frozen, adding a few minutes to the cooking time. Thawing is not recommended as it can make the rolls soggy.
Signs of Spoilage
- Unpleasant or sour smell
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Visible mold growth
- Discoloration of the filling or crust
- Hard, freezer-burned appearance (if frozen for too long)
