Preserve the deliciousness of your favorite ramen noodles with proper storage techniques. Whether you're stocking up on dried packets or have leftover cooked noodles, knowing how to keep them fresh ensures a satisfying meal every time.
Storage Time
Unopened dried ramen noodles can last for 6-12 months in the pantry. Cooked ramen noodles, if stored properly, are best consumed within 1-2 days in the refrigerator.
Temperature
Store unopened dried ramen noodles in a cool, dry place, ideally between 15-20°C (59-68°F). Cooked ramen noodles should be refrigerated at 0-4°C (32-40°F).
Freezing
While dried ramen noodle packets are not typically frozen, cooked ramen noodles can be frozen to extend their life. Allow cooked noodles to cool completely, then portion them into airtight containers or freezer bags. For best quality, consume frozen cooked ramen within 1-2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or gently reheat from frozen in a pot with a little water or broth.
Signs of Spoilage
- Mold growth on dried noodles or in packaging.
- A stale, musty, or rancid odor emanating from the noodles.
- Cooked noodles becoming excessively slimy or developing an off-putting texture.
