Enjoy the zesty refreshment of homemade lemonade, a classic thirst-quencher perfect for any occasion. Properly stored, this vibrant citrus beverage can maintain its delicious flavor and quality for several days.
Storage Time
3–5 days in the refrigerator, up to 3 months in the freezer.
Temperature
Store refrigerated at or below 4°C (40°F).
Freezing
Homemade lemonade freezes beautifully! Pour into freezer-safe containers or ice cube trays, leaving about an inch of headspace for expansion. To thaw, place the container in the refrigerator overnight or let it sit at room temperature for a few hours. While the flavor remains excellent, the texture might slightly separate upon thawing; a good shake or stir will usually resolve this. Freezing in ice cube trays is a fantastic way to have pre-portioned lemonade for future drinks or to add a citrusy chill to other beverages.
Signs of Spoilage
- Cloudy or murky appearance that wasn't there initially.
- A sour or fermented smell, distinct from the fresh lemon aroma.
- Visible mold growth on the surface or along the edges of the container.
- An off-putting, unpleasant taste.
